In other words, if you do it with a guild or static, you'll need to PUG it all over again on Normal/Heroic/Mythic to have a shot at loot you already earned. GG Blizz. Comment by FreezingHowl on 2020-12-15T21:04:45-06:00 Wait for ALT 1 to become group leader (it's short; 60-90 seconds or so) and set difficulty to Normal. Even if it's already on Normal, re-select it! This will save you lots of frustration, trust me. Enter the raid on ALT 1. Check the lockout notice carefully to make sure your desired boss is still alive and then accept the lockout.

Legion and Battle for Azeroth LFR, Normal and Heroic raids fall into the Loot-Based Lockout section. Legion and Battle for Azeroth Mythic raids use the Strict Instance-based Lockout. Lockouts at a Glance Raid lockouts limit the number of times a character can kill a boss in a week for a chance at obtaining loot from that boss. The LFR kill seems to be counting as Normal, as players who had previously done the encounter on the lowest raid difficulty, which unlocked this week, don't even get gold or any loot options from Normal bosses they defeat. This isn't a coincidence, as the same players then received loot from later bosses which they hadn't cleared in LFR. Note that this does not retroactively fix the issue, only prospectively.

The three other bosses that I did on LFR gave me nothing on normal mode. They did not even sparkle at all. LFR should have a loot lockout shared with other formats below mythic.

Killing Azshara on Heroic, then killing Azshara on Normal will result in no drops of those items on the second kill. You are already overgearing LFR and Normal-difficulty, based on ilvl. But it is very good to have some knowledge beforehand of the raid already. LFR is queuable with i think a requirement of 415 ilvl.

As it stands, at the start of 4.3, you had to do LFR to min/max (4 piece) properly, and that implied obligation is a large culprit in people getting bored of the raid tier.

In … Loot-based Lockout You can kill a boss as many times per week as you like, but only loot once per difficulty: once in LFR, once in Normal, and once in Heroic. Applies to all raid bosses of the following expansions: Warlords of Draenor, Legion, Battle for Azeroth, and Shadowlands, as well as Siege of Orgrimmar of Mists of Pandaria. LFR, Normal, and Heroic have what are known as Loot Lockouts, where if you have killed the boss, you cannot loot it again. LFR you have to queue for the wings, but for heroic or normal you will generally be in an instance that matches the raid lead's lockout. So if you are 3/8 and start a raid group, you will have 3 bosses dead when you walk in. 2019-05-23 2020-12-17 2020-08-10 Note that this does not retroactively fix the issue, only prospectively.

So for a chance at better gear, you need to run LFR until you have no more upgrades available outside of normal/HM raids. To be the most competitive (which is required for many HM fights) you are forced to run LFR. For that reason, I think it should share a lockout.
